GREAT FAITH GROUPS
Choosing to make Christ our passion, priority and purpose.
Christ our PASSION
The Great Commandment tells us to 'love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength' (Mark 12:30). As we see and understand who God the Father, Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit truly are, we will find our passion for him growing in all of these areas of our life.
Christ our PRIORITY
As our passion for him grows, our response to him should grow in equal measure in each area of our life. We should desire to be found by Christ with the type of faith that he sees as great (Matthew 8:10; Luke 7:9). This great faith comes through surrendering everything to the priority of Christ in our life because we know his love. This surrender is practiced and exhibited through spiritual disciplines.
Christ our PURPOSE
The things of God should be the central purposes of our life. And the main thing of God is that all would come to know him, grow in their relationship with him, and be transformed into who he has created them to be. We do this by making the Great Commission of 'go into all the world and proclaim the gospel' (Mark 16:15) and 'make disciples of all nations' (Matthew 28:18) our purpose in every area of our life. We fulfill this purpose in the power of his Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8), loving our neighbors as ourself (Mark 12:31), and through the strategy of 'entrusting what we have learned with faithful men, who will be able to teach others also' (2 Timothy 2:2).
